Connect your mailbox (Gmail, Outlook, SMTP)

Outreach sends from your own inbox, not a shared domain — here's exactly what connecting one takes.

TaskGlaze never sends outreach from a shared TaskGlaze domain. Every email goes out through a real mailbox you connect — so replies land in an inbox you actually own, and your own sending reputation is what's on the line, not a stranger's.

Where to connect one

Go to Mail → Settings → Mailboxes (/mail/settings?section=mailboxes) and click + Connect mailbox. A trial account includes room for 1 connected mailbox and a budget of 100 sent emails.

What it actually asks for

The Connect mailbox dialog offers quick presets for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail and Zoho Mail, plus an Other / Custom option for anything else. Every option — including Gmail and Outlook — connects the same way: real SMTP and IMAP credentials (host, port, and a password), not an OAuth sign-in screen. For providers with two-factor authentication turned on, that means generating an app password from the provider's own account-security settings, rather than typing your normal login password.

  • Gmail: create an app password at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords (requires 2-Step Verification to be on).
  • Outlook: an app password if two-factor authentication is enabled on the Microsoft account.
  • Yahoo / Zoho: same pattern, generated from each provider's own account-security page.
  • Other / Custom: enter your SMTP host and port directly — useful for a business domain mailbox that isn't one of the presets above.

Once connected, TaskGlaze runs a real connection check before saving it, so a typo in the host or an expired app password gets caught immediately instead of failing silently on your first real send. You can re-run that same check any time from the Mailboxes tab if a send later starts failing — it's usually a rotated app password or a provider security prompt that needs re-approving.

What's next

A connected mailbox is what unlocks sending — see "Send your first outreach sequence" for how a single send differs from enrolling prospects into a multi-step sequence.
