Find who outranks you
Every rank check already collects who's beating you for that keyword — for free. Here's where to see it.
You don't have to run anything separately to see your competition. Every time TaskGlaze checks a tracked keyword's position, it also records the real sites ranking above you on that same search — at no extra cost, because it's already looking at that page of results.
Per-keyword: the SERP competitors list
Open a tracked keyword's detail view and look for SERP competitors — who outranked you last check. This is exactly who beat you the last time that keyword was checked, refreshed on the same cadence as the keyword itself. If the keyword isn't ranking in the top results yet, there's nothing to compare against and the section says so.
Project-wide: the Competitors tab
The Competitors tab on your project's Keywords page (/ranks) rolls this up across every tracked keyword: which domains keep showing up above you, how many times, their average and best position, and when you last saw them. This is the view to use when you want to know who your recurring competition actually is, not just who beat you on one keyword.
From competitor to backlink source
Seeing who outranks you is the setup, not the endpoint. Next to any competitor row, an "Analyze this competitor's backlinks" action takes you straight into that domain's real backlink profile — which is the actual prospecting step (see "Pull a competitor's backlinks and filter them"). This is free to look at; it's the deeper, one-click backlink scan from there that uses your trial's backlink-scan allowance.
One thing this feature deliberately does not do: it doesn't reverse-engineer how any specific existing backlink was acquired. What it does tell you, once you pull their backlinks, is what kind of link that site typically hands out — a different and more useful question, covered in "What the link-type tags mean."
